Vehicle Rental Use and Care Policy

Read the Terms & Conditions about renting a car from our company

General Terms
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel booking at any time.
If you do not meet our renting requirements.
Please ensure that there are sufficient funds available at your debit card.
If your license was issued outside the country of collection, you must also bring your passport with you when collecting the vehicle.
All additional drivers must meet the same license requirements as the main driver.
The vehicle is covered by roadside assistance for any mechanical faults. If the call out is due to driver negligence, for example lost keys or running out of fuel, the renter may be charged a breakdown call out fee.

NO SHOW – A failure to collect vehicle prior to your reserved pickup time and date, might incur at minimum a no show fee.

Vehicle must be returned at or before the expiry of the term of hire and should be returned in the same condition as when rented, normal wear and tear excepted.

Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle.

The rental price include:
CDW Insurance with an excess amount,
Third party insurance (TPI),
– Unlimited Km,
– 24/7 Roadside Assistance,
– All taxes & V.A.T.
– The first additional driver.

Security bond
We require a security bond when you collect the vehicle.
The security deposit/bond is deducted from your credit card.
Cash deposits are not accepted.

Restricted roads / areas of use
There are certain roads and areas that you cannot drive this vehicle on. Any unpaved roads or off-road driving is prohibited. You will not be insured if you drive on these roads and therefore you will be fully liable for any damage that might occur.

Optional items / extras
Special equipment and optional extras may be requested at time of booking but are subject to availability and change without notice.

Traffic infringements
It is your responsibility to cover the cost of any traffic infringements, such as speeding or parking fines incurred during the rental period.

Age rules
The minimum driver age is 23 years old and the maximum 75.

Mileage policy
Rates include unlimited mileage.

Fuel policy
Like for Like Policy: Your vehicle will be supplied with an certain amount of fuel. You will be required to return the car with the same level of fuel that you received the car with.

One-way rentals
One way rentals are on request and one way service fee will apply.

Driver license rules
All drivers must carry a valid full license from their country of residence. Driving license printed with non-Latin Alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic etc) must be complemented by an international driving license or official translation.
License must be valid for the entire rental period.
The license must have been held for a minimum of 1 year.

Amendments to bookings
If you experience any delays, you must contact the office immediately prior to your reserved pickup time.

Full Terms

After Hours Service
After hours is a service provided to pick up and/or drop off a vehicle outside the opening hours. An additional charge of 25.00 EUR including airport fee applies and must be paid at the rental counter.

Transport Policy
You are prohibited to transport the vehicle by ferry without Best Wheels written authorization.

INSURANCES

Third party insurance (TPI):
Included in the rental price. Under this insurance, all authorized drivers are covered for third-party liability for death, bodily injury, and property damage. In the event that damage occurs to the vehicle, the driver is obliged to compensate the rental company for both actual and consequential damages.

C.D.W. Collision Damage Waiver Insurance:
Included in the rental price. Under this insurance, in the event of an accident or damage, the liability of authorized drivers is limited to an excess amount. This amount varies depending on the vehicle category and is set as follows:
– €650 + VAT for groups A and B
– €850 + VAT for groups C, D, G, K, K2, B-SUV, and Automatic SUV

Explanation: The excess amount, for example €850 + VAT, defines the maximum amount you are responsible for in the event of an accident or damage to the vehicle.
Specifically:
– If the repair cost exceeds €850 + VAT, you will only be required to pay €850 + VAT.
– If the repair cost is less than €850 + VAT, you will be required to pay the full amount of the damage (including VAT).

F.D.W. Full Damage Waiver Insurance:
This insurance is provided at an additional daily cost, depending on the vehicle category. With this coverage, in the event of an accident or damage, the liability of authorized drivers is zero.

No insurance covers:
– Damages caused by a driver under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
– Damages caused by an unauthorized driver, to the interior of the vehicle, because the vehicle was illegally parked, due to violations of the Traffic Code (K.O.K.), from dangerous driving, or from intentional acts.
– Damages to the engine due to wrong fuel or more generally, due to the driver’s negligence.
– Damages caused because the vehicle was used off-road or on unsuitable roads (unpaved roads, dirt roads, beaches, etc.).
– Damages occurring after the agreed return time of the vehicle.
– Damage to exterior mirrors.
– Damage to or loss of tires, rims, or hubcaps.
– Damages to the underside of the vehicle.
– Damage caused either intentionally or through the lessee’s recklessness, such as: clutch burnout, tire burnout, engine damage, as well as damage to the hood, trunk, or roof from someone sitting or climbing on it, etc.
– If the renter fails to notify our company and the police at the time of the accident.
– Loss of personal belongings.
– Loss, damage, or theft of the vehicle’s keys.

Instructions in case of an accident
If the driver is in an accident (e.g. collision, swerve, etc.) or discovers damage to the vehicle (e.g. scratches, dents), regardless of the insurance coverage he has, he must: Immediately inform the rental company and the Traffic Police. To submit within 24 hours the Traffic Accident Report prepared by the insurance company or the Traffic Police.

Roadside Protection
Roadside Assistance- Free of charge and available 24/7. Contact phone number of the road assistance indicated to the signed Rental Agreement and/or provided by the rental agent at the time of pickup the car. It is recommended to contact the branch directly in the event of required roadside assistance. If the driver drives the vehicle off the official road network and the vehicle immobilized, the driver will be charged the cost of towing the vehicle from the roadside assistance.

Procedures and Charges
– The Accident Statement should always be supplemented so that the insurances’ covers will be in effect.
– In case of car damage or a car theft, an administration fee (D.A.F.) of 40,00 EUR and Airport Fee will be charged to the driver. This charge applies irrelevantly of party at fault.
– Vehicles returned with stained interior.
